Pole Vaulter, Adara Christensen, from Westlake High School had broken the state record a few months back at the state meet which was held towards the end of May 2017.  “I started training for pole vaulting in January.” It only took a few months to do the unthinkable.

In order for her to beat the record she would have to jump 11.11 ¾”, which she ended up achieving in the state meet.

Adara, is involved in many other sports and activities. She claims that tennis and years of gymnastics in her past helped her achieve this highlight of her pole vaulting career.

Track and cross country also played hand in hand allowing her to build up her strength for pole vault.

She plans to go to college on a pole vault scholarship, and continuing to improve in the sport.
